Flip-flopping politicians are nothing new. I would think that it's pretty much impossible to keep track of all the times a president, a senator or a congressman said one thing during his campaign and then pursued the opposite policy after being elected. Thus, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), by helping to put forth the "gang of eight" immigration bill, is continuing a tradition that probably started in way back in 1776.
